Hello Players. Listed below is the entry form for Palm Springs Open Doubles 2015, to be played March 7 and 8 at Plaza Racquet Club and Mission Hills Country Club. Please mail the entry form with your check as indicated on the form or enter online at glta.net. The tournament is Palm Springs Doubles 2015. Our tournament this year is the week-end prior to the Indian Wells Pro event so add a few days to your desert stay and catch some fantastic professional tennis action in Indian Wells.
There is exciting news for this year’s Doubles Tournament. In addition to our regular Open, A, B, C, D division doubles, we are offering a special event as a pilot event for consideration for future USTA and GLTA tournaments. It’s called “Same Sex Married Couple or Domestic Partners Doubles”. Palm Springs Doubles 2015 and the DTA have been selected by USTA to test drive this event and see if we can make it work on the courts. So join in if you meet the entry criteria no matter what level of tennis you are. This event is age divisions with the combined age of the two partners the determining factor. Combined partner ages of 80, 100 and 120 are offered as well as an Open Division for any couple meeting the entry criteria. So help us make this event happen. It is another milestone in same sex marriage history. Same Sex Married Couple tennis divisions not just in GLTA events, but USTA events as well.
Players meeting the criteria for the Same Sex Married Couple or Domestic Partner event may also enter one of the Palm Springs Doubles divisions according to GLTA guidelines. These are Open, A, B, C, D. Or you may opt to enter just one of the doubles. It is $60 per player for one doubles and $80 per player to enter two doubles events, one being the Same Sex Married Couple Domestic Partner Doubles.
